Sweet 16!!!!
Today I had my sweet 16! I had a whole party and everything! Ok, so my birthday isn't for another 2 weeks, but hey, what does that matter? I can just have another one then!
ok, i'll start at the begining.
Shifra I, Shifra KAA, and I decided that we wanted to have a sweet 16. It'd be really cool, y'know? To have a big party and celebrate and all that good stuff. And Shiffy KAA and I had always wanted to have a joint party. Her birthday is Oct. 8th, and mine is Nov. 10th (remember that, ppl!) so we thought that it would work really well. Then Shif I wanted to have it with us also, and her birthday is Sept. 13th. So we figured that we could all have a big one, together, in the middle of all of our birthdays - around Shiffy KAA's in october. But that was on sukkot, so we had to push it off a little. We also decided that it would be very cool if we could have the party at Shif I's house, in West Hartford. So we spent the last couple weeks planning what to do, what to eat, and the biggest fiasco- how everyone from providence and sharon would get there. That was such a big mess, i'm not even going to tell you about it. I promise - you don't EVEN want to KNOW! There ended up being 4 drivers. My mom drove our mini van, my dad drove his car, mr./mrs. shafner (sarah's mom and dad) drove their car, and mrs. schectman (adina's mom) drove her mini van. We had about 15/16 people come, and it was really really really great!
At the party itself, we forst went to a corn maze. You had to find your way around, and find all these little numbered signs. My group found all but 5 of them! It was great! We wanted to be there when it got dark - we had a ton of glow sticks and flashlights and twizzlers - what more did we need? But our parents insisted that we leave before it got dark (we had like 2h to go.... lol). When we got back, we had pizza, and salads and stuff that Mrs. Isaacs made for us, and then a HUGE tub of ice cream and a HGUE ice cream cake. It actually turned out that though it was none of our actual birthdays, it was the real birthday of one of the girls in my class, Shira. So we partied with her too. It was a lot of fun. Then we went outside, and played with the glowsticks that we hadn't gotten to use at the maze. It was a lot of fun in the dark on the front lawn. It was funny, one car slowed down really slow to see what we were doing, and her neighbor came out to watch us. It was really funny. Then, after a group picture (which i mention sinice it took FOREVER, as all group pics do) we had to head home. But you know what, a lot of my friends were there, and it was a lot of fun! It was a great Sweet 16! (And i might even get to party again in 2 weeks for my real birthday! YAY!)
